Terms of Service

By accessing or using Kocher AI (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of a child, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and accept these Terms on their behalf.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. The Service is designed for children aged 5-16, who may only use it through a profile created and supervised by their parent or guardian. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your password and parental PIN confidential.

Kocher AI provides a Socratic, curriculum-aligned AI learning companion ("Koko"), interactive learning activities, progress tracking, and parental controls including safety logging and alerts. We may add, change, or remove features from time to time to improve the Service.

Koko's responses are generated by artificial intelligence and are intended for educational support only. While we design Koko to be safe, accurate, and age-appropriate, AI can make mistakes or produce incomplete information. The Service does not replace professional advice (including medical, psychological, or educational advice), and parents should supervise use and verify important information.

We operate content-safety guardrails and may log and alert parents to certain interactions, as described in our Privacy Policy. You agree not to misuse the Service, attempt to bypass safety features or the parental PIN, use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or attempt to disrupt, probe, or reverse-engineer it. We may suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the Service or pose a risk to children or others.

The Service offers a free plan and a paid "Koko Plus" subscription. Paid subscriptions and any free trial are billed through our payment provider on the terms shown at checkout. Where a free trial is offered, you may be required to provide payment details, and unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription will convert to a paid plan at the stated price. You can cancel at any time from the parent dashboard; cancellation stops future charges, and access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. We will give notice of any price changes.

The Service, including Koko, its content, software, and branding, is owned by Kocher AI and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for your family's personal, non-commercial educational use. You may not copy, resell, or commercially exploit the Service.

Input submitted through the Service (such as a child's messages) is used to provide the Service as described in our Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of content you submit and grant us the limited rights needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that Koko's responses will always be accurate or suitable for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kocher AI will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including, in the UK, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Where our liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the parent dashboard. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect users. On termination, the licence granted to you ends, and we will handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence give you additional rights or require a different forum.
